A dark tide approaches.
It comes from afar, developing slowly, but growing in power.
I alone can feel it, as people around me dance and pretend it will be alright.
But they know as well as I know, that the darkness that’s coming will leave nothing untouched.
And so I listen and wait, as the approaching storm grows louder.
I send my roots deep into the ground, as I connect with the others around me.
Ready, as much as one can be, for the dark days to come.
